Readers often tell me that their favorite part of my newsletters is My Favorites. To celebrate, I decided to compile a big list of my winter favorites for you to enjoy as we head into the season.
Winter can feel dark, cold and long, but it also offers many blessings and opportunities for slowing down and reflecting. You can enjoy winter by leaning into simple pleasures and finding joy in the small things. I hope the list that follows brings you just that. Enjoy!

Keep warm with these furry mittens and ear muffs. The mittens are a hot item every year, so if they sell out, you can try finding them here or here. They’re great because they flip open to allow you to use your fingers.
House of Wix makes the best candles. My favorite wintery scents are Juniper and Redwood + Cedar.
To help boost my mood, among many other benefits, I’ve been getting regular Vitamin B12 injections. My hair stylist even noticed an improvment in my hair after a few months.
I live in this cozy robe over my pjs.
Listening to As the Season Turns podcast at the start of each month. Excited to hear what the new themes will be in 2024.
If you’re not in the mood for your average cold salad, try this kale salad with warm cranberry vinaigrette. Yum!
Enjoying a hot cuppa coffee is my favorite all year round, but it’s especially enjoyable in the winter. I splurged on a new Moccamaster coffee maker, a gift that will keep on giving. (Merry Christmas to me!)
This song is an oldie but a goodie.
There’s nothing like cozying up by a fire with a good book in the winter. The Storygraph helps me track what I’m reading and save books to my to-be-read list. It’s cool because it gives you analytics on the types of books you like to read.
I highly recommend purchasing books through Bookshop.org. Every purchase supports independent bookshops. Let’s keep them alive! (You’ve Got Mail anyone?)
This puffer jacket is stylish and toasty warm. I have the espresso brown color and get so many compliments. I can’t get enough of brown this season!
I recommend this book to anyone needing a little extra Care.
This is such a fun dice game to play with friends and family.
These are my go-to snow bibs and winter boots for my daughter. Each year I get the same and just size up.
If you enjoy baking like I do, here are some tools that I recommend: Silpat baking mat, cookie scoop, and this adjustable measuring cup (it’s a gamechanger for sticky measurements like peanut butter and honey).
Speaking of baking, peanut butter blossoms are on my top 5 favorite cookie list.
Winter is also be cold and flu season. These Dr. Brite wipes are my favorite for killing those germs. I also like their hand sanitizers.
Leaning into all things Hygge.
I carry these Ricola lemon mint drops in my car and my purse all season.
The cold weather can wreak havoc on our skin. In addition to this basic face cream, I boost my hydration with this facial tonic and moisturizing mask. For my hands, I’ve been enjoying this hand cream and for my body this lotion.
A new year usually means a new planner and wall calendar! (Am I the only one who gets excited for this?)
Freshen up your nails with the mani system from Olive & June. My favorite O&J color for winter is luxe loafer.
These are my favorite tights to wear with dresses and skirts in wintertime. They’re actually comfortable.
My favorite comfies right now are my Skimms hoodie and joggers in spruce.
Drinking cinnamon spiced tea on repeat.
You can’t leave home without chapstick.
I love reading this little book to remind me what life is all about. It’s a short read, but so meaningful.
Listening to this Winter in New York playlist daily:
Thank you for reading this edition of My Favorites. Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year.
Cheers!
